Better Training to Reduce Accidents at Work

Better Training to Reduce Accidents at Work

The British Energy group has suggested that consistent training and reward is vital to ensuring fewer major health and safety incidents in the workplace. Despite proclamations from government that the number of overall work related accidents is lower, the reality is quite different. The NHS, for instance, has continued to see the number of accidents involving NHS staff increase by almost 25% despite a government pledge to cut it by the same amount.

The British Energy group has suggested how rewarding employees who had contributed to increased prevention of accidents at work, can in fact help to cut accidents in future as it makes them feel like an asset for safe and reliable operations and that they can have a role in the future to marking up safety standards.

As well as improved training, communication was also an important necessity in that every employee should fee obligated to raise concerns about safety and suggest improvements without feeling that such truth-telling is frowned upon for raising criticisms.

The National Audit Office’s paper on NHS accidents a year ago highlighted problems in the NHS that still have not been acted upon. That report wrote about how staff shortages and increased workload had led to difficulties in complying with guidelines, which in turn had led to an increase in accidents.

The NHS in particular proved to be a minefield of accidents; the suggestions expounded by the NAO have yet to be acted on. For example, they suggested that the NHS should take immediately steps to provide a safe working environment for nurses in particular, given that they are scarce in number.

The government’s slow response to the problem is indicative of the approach worldwide by independent jurisdictions. The International Labour Organisation (ILO) submitted that there are more than 3,300 work-related deaths a day.

One field where the government is being seen to make changes is in relation to building sites. Over the course of last year, deaths on building sites rose by a quarter and the government is suggesting that building workers should be trained to better understand health and safety issues. Furthermore, that union health and safety representatives should be appointed at every building site. This would also be an ideal way to tackle a specific problem regarding building sites, where it seems many self-employed workers, including migrants, are denied employment rights and do not have essential safety training.

First of all you have to have the right size crate. It should be big enough for him to stand up in and turn around in a circle. If the crates to big he'll just poop on one side and sleep on the other. So the idea is that the dog first off feels like he has a place to call his own. Remember dogs like cave type places. It makes then feel secure.

Then there is the matter of the dog learning to "hold it" when he has to go. He just can't go where ever and when ever he wants. When he holds it a little bit at a time it helps to make the muscles that control peeing and pooping better at it. My dog Alex is amazing cause when it's raining out he'll hold it for 12 hours sometimes just cause he doesn't want to get wet.

Housebreaking to me just means that a dog knows better then to mess inside all buildings. That means your house, my house or your local pet supply store.
Housetrained means that not only does the dog know not to mess in a building but he has learn how to ask to go outside to use the potty. Some dogs scratch at the doors others use a bell hung on the door but either way they know that extra step.

gun control is wrong,it will not stop people from snapping and killing.rejecting "gods" does not make people kill on a mass level.the problem has nothing to do with guns,or any "god".

I think you are doing so well, not scolding him and everything.
We used a "Pup training pad" thing it was so good, it has blue on it which attracts them, he did wee's on that for agess and pooed and then, we just put it outside. With my pup we moved his poo outside too if he did accidents inside, the area where we wanted him to poo. He would eventually smell around, find his old poo's and poo near them. (We would clean them up often though). I also took my pup outside every time i remembered and said "Do a wee" and waited until he did one, just spending a little while outside. When he did one I would say "Good boy! You did a wee!" and patted him, he eventually understood.
After he did an accident inside I would also take him outside straight away and say "Do a wee" so he made that connection between what he had just done and the grass/outdoors.
He now scratches on the door to go outside and sleeps outside in his kennel, when we go out in the morning he has always pooed in the one spot.
I think he is old enough to be out of a cage now, do u have a backyard where you can have a fenced running area for him? and then have his bed inside, making sure he wee's and poo's before bed.

I think that this like many other things that have come and gone in the past years is unfortunatly not a cure. People are always claiming that a diet or something is going to cure autism. I work with children with autism and I've never heard about this working. I know 5 years ago when they thought vaccines may be causing autism it was all over the news. I think if it did it would be on the news and all over the place – because a cure for autism would be a big deal. This may be a good treatment for some children but I don't think cure is the right word. (This of course is just my personal opinion and it would never hurt to try a new treatment)

  11. i honestly do not think that arming teachers is the solution. i certainly will not send my children to any school that is armed for war. and what if the teacher isn't close enough to the security box? i think what we need to do instead is take responsibility as parents. teach our children ethics and morals. let them know that bullying someone can lead to violence and devastation. when a child is known without a doubt to be a member of a gang, boot their butt outta there and put him in a school designed for kids like that(jail!). metal detectors and maybe security guards? yes, if necessary. but arming teachers, with all the teachers that are turning out to be pedophiles? i think i'll have to take a pass on that. the day they let teachers bring in guns of their own, is the day i take my kids out of school and teach them myself.

You are wrong. Its not how big your car is its how well it is made that matter in an accident. I have seen small well build cars get into accidents with bigger cars and bigger cars were getting destroyed. and reading the last comment you made "oh god not to mention if a train hits it" If a train hits you, it doesn't matter what car you are in you are dead.

Here's a link to water consumption. Water is so important, especially when feeding dry food. Dehydration can cause a lot of problems. I have always allowed free access to water at all times. If you deprive her of water, she can develop a psychological condition called psychogenic polydipsia where she will always drink every last drop when water is placed before her since she is doesn't have a constant supply.

A general rule of thumb is that an animal needs to consume 2.5 times the amount of water, as its daily intake of food. If an animal eats 2 lbs. of dry food it should consume 5 lbs. of water. (There are 8 lbs. in a gallon.) If he eats 4 oz. of dry food, he should drink 10 ounces of water (1ΒΌ cup). Factors such as high heat and exercise or lactation can increase the needed amount two or three times above normal. Most animals consume more than their daily requirement. A little extra water consumption never hurts, but too little can be catastrophic. Animals that eat canned foods get most of their moisture from the food and may drink much less than an animal on dry food.
