Chessy018 : Tale of Success / showing 6 piles of max cash / my rs story

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” – Walt Disney

The other day I was talking to one of my clients who had taken a giant leap of faith in her business that when implemented was going to catapult her company this year. I was so proud of her because she had chosen to invest in herself and her ultimate success. When I asked her how she felt, she said, “Scared to death,” but she knew it was time to quit talking about success and take action. It was time to go big or go home and she wasn’t “going home.” She could no longer sit on the sidelines waiting for fate to take its course.

A little over a year ago, I, too, experienced a cathartic moment when my coach asked me was my business a serious endeavor or just a hobby. Talk about a wake up call. But then that’s why you hire a coach – to ask you the hard questions that you haven’t thought of or don’t want to face. That was a turning point for me. That is when I started taking myself and my business much more seriously. Don’t get me wrong, I love helping women achieve their goals, but I want to reach out and help as many women as possible to be the best that they can be, and you can’t do that thinking small and playing safe.

If your intention is to be successful, then you are going to have to take the actions that successful people take.

Successful people don’t just talk about their goals, they take concrete steps to get them there.

For instance, successful people don’t:

Wait for the right time. If you wait the right time might never come along.

Hesitate if an opportunity presents itself. They seize the opportunity and run with it.

Ask the price before they look at value. They know that they need to invest in their business and themselves because both endeavors are worth it.

Let fear stop them. They face fear straight on, decide a clear path and then plough through those roadblocks.

Wait for someone else to make the first move. Exactly ‘who’ is that someone going to be if it isn’t you, the business owner?

Worry about making a mistake. Making mistakes is how we grow and learn new techniques to help our businesses thrive.

Let the ‘Yeah, buts’ get in their way. That word ‘but’ is just another stone on the pathway to success that you need to move before you continue your journey.

Associate with negative people. Always hang out with the positive people who support you and your vision. Negativity breeds more negativity and who needs that in their life?

Don’t whine or make excuses about why they are not successful. You can be a victim or a victor. Choose to be a victor and be successful.

Successful people do:

Take action. They make a decision, a strategic plan, and then implement it.

Make things happen. Set the wheels in motion to take that leap of faith and just do it.

Seize opportunities. Investigate that new idea you have for growing your business and then turn that idea into a reality.

Learn the skills they need to learn to succeed. By investing in yourself, you’re investing in your business – a win/win situation.

Become fearless. Whenever fear rears its ugly head, stare it straight in the eye and say, “You have no place in my business or my life. I WILL succeed!”

Know that there are no mistakes, just learning opportunities. As an old friend of mine used to say back in the dark ages, ‘Mistakes are why erasers were invented.” Use that same philosophy when it comes to conquering your fear of making a blunder in your business.

Surround themselves with positive, supportive people. By surrounding yourself with people who are where you want to be, you double or triple the chances of succeeding.

Get support. Never be afraid to reach out and ask someone to help you out. If you need additional team members, hire them, or if you need a coach to help you figure out where you need to go then find one.

They expect to succeed with unwavering faith. They never settle for less than what they truly want in their business and their life.

So, what about you? Are you doing the things that successful people do to get what you want or are you going to settle for playing small? Is your business where you want it to be or do your feet feel like they’re encased in concrete? Are you merely talking about instituting changes or taking firm actions to get to where you want to go?

Take a look at where you are in your business right now. Take the time to write out a strategic plan of action to propel your business to the level you want to achieve in 2009.

Help answer the question about success people

People from Louisiana or who know something about it: How did the open primary help David Duke's success?
As you know David Duke (former leader of the klan and former state representative) was a candidate for governor in Louisiana's 1991 gubernatorial general election after being one of the top two finishers in the primary. People say that the open primary contributed to his success. Can you explain this? I don't understand how this is. Thanks.

I feel for you – I also have 2 pups – lab mix litter mates, brother & sister. I've read alot on the internet that's negative about have 2 puppies at the same time. But if you have the time (I work from a home office), patience, money and energy it is a wonderful, heartwarming, rewarding experience. It helps that my vet has been very supportive of our having two pups. My pups teach eachother and learn quickly and they sleep through the night without a problem. So far they've been EASIER to potty train than I expected because they learn from eachother. of course they get in twice as much trouble but it just means we have to supervise and make the effort to train them all the more.

We are being very careful about making sure they bond with us as well as eachother and make sure to spend time alone with each of them. So far, it's a fantastic (although exhausting) life changing experience and I wouldn't trade having two over one for anything!

I did the same thing when I got cats years ago, I found raising two at the same time shows you how different their personalities are and let's you appreciate their differences.

Ask any parent of twins if it's worth it :-)

The hardest thing? Getting them to answer to their individual names! They will both respond to either name so far, so we'll spend more time one on one with that.

Good luck and ignore all those negative people!

  8. guru says:

For us to avoid success we must consider first the absurdity of the desire for material goods. Fools believe that if they could only achieve wealth, their wills can be completely gratified. A man of means is supposed to be a man with means for the fulfillment of every desire.

People are often reproached for wishing for money above all things, and for loving it more than anything else. But it is natural and even inevitable for people to love that which, like an unwearied Proteus, is always ready to turn itself into whatever object their wandering wishes or their manifold desires may fix upon. Everything else can satisfy only one wish: money alone is absolute good because it is the abstract satisfaction of every wish.

Nevertheless, a life devoted to the acquisition of wealth is useless unless we know how to turn into joy and this is an art that requires culture and wisdom. A succession of sensual pursuits never satisfies for long. One must understand the ends of life as well as the art of acquiring means.

Great question! Have a wonderful day.

  9. awesome it inspires me on rs so much!

  10. Eskimo says:

I once met a man who told me that her was retired, and in his early ‘40’s. He told me that he had enough money that he would never have to work another day in his life, but would trade it all for a happy home life.

If fame and fortune make people happy, then why in the world are so many of the people out in Hollywood getting married/divorced so many times? Why are they constantly in/out of rehab for drugs/alcohol?

My mother-in-law of 36 years was born a few years before the Great Depression. She was born poor, raised and married poor, lived poor all of her life, and more likely than not, will die poor. Having said that, I can honestly say that I would not trade her for the richest mother-in-law in Hollywood.

While financially I do not have much money, I am in reality a multi-millionaire. At the age of 62, I have never been hungry in my life (not saying that I’ve never missed a meal…just saying that I have never been hungry such as those poor people in Darfur or North Korea). I have always had a roof over my head, shoes on my feet, clothes on my back, and food on the table. I have been without a job only 6 weeks in my working career.

My wife has ALWAYS put God 1st in our marriage, our children 2nd, me 3rd, and herself last. I’ve seen her take the money that she has saved up to buy herself something that she has wanted for a long time (for example, a Singer sewing machine), go out and buy presents for children that she knew would NOT have ANYTHING for Christmas.

    Luke 12:15
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

    Proverbs 13:7

“There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches”

Yes, I’m rich, but not in ways that most people would think of being wealthy. God has blessed me all of my life. My adult children still go to church faithfully, and bring their children with them.

Wouldn’t trade any aspect of my life for any amount of money in the world.

As far as "working for other people" …you give yourself a pretty sizeable obstacle to deal with by dropping out of high school.

But the sky is the limit as far as creating success in a business of your own. You don't need a diploma or a college degree….but you do need alot of self education.

Maybe the "System" of highschool just isn't doing it for you….but you still need to find a desire to learn and be at the top of your game when it comes to business and marketing.

In business…the ONLY goal is to make and keep customers ( not to sell stuff)…so any knowledge and skills that create the opportunity for you to be able to do that better/easier…then those skills and knowledge are what you spend your time pursuing. If you become a master at making and keeping customers…then you absolutely cannot fail.

Alot of business owners think the goal is to sell stuff…they are wrong..and they usually go out of business at some point.

They don't realize that everything in their company…and I mean EVERYTHING….has to work toward Making and Keeping Customers…if it does not..then it is a waste of time.

    I'm talking about …employees….policies….procedures….you….your advertising…your product and service….everything.

The ability to make and keep customers is the key to success.

    Good Luck

  17. gay-pianist says:

I dont think its necessarily "smarter" than you are, but that they have skills which you lack or enjoy performing tasks which you do not.

  18. A sense of entitlement. When anyone does not begin with a decent amount of humbleness you see any success act like a spark to a flame. A person who is humble to begin with realizes where he started from.

  19. Funky House says:

LOL u vidded that moment nice

  20. Jeremy says:

The system was put in place in 1975 by a Democrat, then Gov. Edwin Edwards. In the 1970s, the South was still largely a Democratic stronghold, and incumbents like Edwards often faced their stiffest challenges in Democratic primaries. So Edwards pushed to do away with the traditional party-primary system. The strategy paid off. In 1975, facing weak opposition, he cruised to re-election.

The open primary has been criticized for forcing voters go to the polls twice in the space of a month, which tends to depress turnout. Some academics contend that it favors incumbents (who can afford to campaign twice) while others say it aids fringe candidates (who can get just enough votes to force a runoff). In 1991 David Duke used the open primary system to force a runoff with Edwards. Thus originated the famous bumper sticker: "Vote for the Crook: It's Important."

copied from article written by By Chris Mooney

Some people voted for Duke when, the national media and other states started saying they wouldn't visit the State or due business with LA if he got elected. People here don't like to be told who to vote for or threatened.

both Duke & Edwards have been arrested and jailed, something I thought I would never see. La is improving if ever so slowly.

they had rumors that Bush was going to pardon Edie but it didn't happen.

Jealousy and they regret not trying harder in their life to get to that point. Wishing they had listened to their parents.

  23. sindac89 says:

    It's a little of both.

Everyone has genes that make up everything from their apperance, to their personality, to intelligence, social skills, etc.

Now while one person may have better genes than another.. it all comes down to What You Do With It.

Combined that with people who can not just conform to the specific sometimes mundane goals of society.. but they can conform those goals around themselves..

That is what makes someone great or successful.

Stepping a little beyond what they are or can be.
